Great evening with Brentford FC Community Sports Trust listening to the excellent Michael Caulfield MSc discuss mental health and wellbeing in football.
Key insights from Michael’s work as a psychologist with Brentford Football Club include:

🔴 1 in 4 adults experience suicidal thoughts during their lifetime
🔴 Players often don’t feel safe telling coaches, teammates and their club how they really feel because they are concerned with how this may impact their career
🔴 Ultimately, players just want someone to talk with openly. However, they will only do so if they are in an environment where they feel safe to share their feelings. This can only be achieved by developing a relationship with the player over time built on trust.

These themes align closely with CCC’s mission to provide socially responsible representation services prioritising players’ welfare and personal development.
We separate the person from the player, understanding that our clients are human beings first and foremost.
Follow CCC as we reveal several new partnerships in the coming weeks that will strengthen our player care offering even further, providing our athletes with the resources they need to support their mental health and personal development.
